Things to know about me as an accountant.

I am an accountant and Enrolled Agent. I graduated Magna cum Laude with a B.S. in Business Administration – Accounting from the University of Maine at Augusta. As an Enrolled Agent (EA), I am authorized by the IRS to represent clients before all administrative levels of the IRS.

My goal is to minimize your tax obligations, honestly and ethically. I provide professional, timely, confidential services at a very reasonable cost. I personally handle all of your tax preparation. Therefore, you will see the same experienced tax preparer each year – me. I will get to know you as an individual and can provide guidance on decisions that will affect the taxes you pay in the future.

I am qualified to handle all types of accounting and tax engagements. In addition to taxes, I offer a full range of accounting services including QuickBooks setup and consultation. No client is too small to benefit from my services.

This year, I am the site coordinator for the Calais Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. VITA helps low-income taxpayers with basic tax situations meet their filing requirements. Last year we helped over 200 taxpayers receive more than $134,000 in tax refunds.

In addition to being an accountant and Enrolled Agent, I live on a small farm in Perry with my husband, our three children, and a variety of animals. During the summer and fall, I make awesome goat cheese thanks to our small herd of dairy goats.

What is an Enrolled Agent (EA)?EAs must demonstrate their technical expertise in taxation by completing a 9-hour examination administered by the IRS that covers Individual; Business; and Representation, Practice, Procedures, and Ethics. EAs also apply for enrollment with the IRS and undergo a stringent background check. Also, I am required to complete a minimum of 72 hours of continuing education every three year period assuring my clients that their tax professional stays up to date on tax issues and adheres to high ethical standards. EAs are tax specialists!
